That Dream (again)

I never get lost.
This house, this Labyrinth - like
the back of my Hand.

Deep pools dot the floor
I drop, swim, find an ingress.
Keep moving. Always.

I emerge - outside
Twisted trees; people's faces.
Things feel very Wrong.

I know a shortcut
Up to the attic. Safe there.
'Til tomorrow night.

My fingers that crave
for chocolate is that only
mere smile of it.

Hi Katie,

Thanks for your interest in the Haiku Club--you're off to a great start! But if you'd like to contribute, write a haiku that has something to do with the current week's theme. This week, our theme is Dreams.

James, beautifully done! You've really captured the claustrophobic, darkly ominous feel of the nightmare here--just hope you don't get this one often, as it's a creepy one...
